The Toronto Blue Jays were brought back down to earth Wednesday night. After a dominant outing to start the three game set against Boston, the Blue Jays’ league-leading home offense could only muster 3 runs on 9 hits. Ross Stripling didn’t do Toronto any favors, giving up 5 runs in the first inning.
The Red Sox gave the Blue Jays a taste of their own medicine, with a 7 run outing and some solid pitching from Garrett Richards who struck out 7 over 6 innings while only giving up 2 runs.
Prior to Wednesday, the Toronto Blue Jays had been on something of a tear, with wins in 9 of their previous 12 games, something fans are certainly happy to see.
Toronto will look to close out the three-game set on Thursday night in Dunedin.
